Judges Route: Mt Arrowsmith:
    I have made up a "Topo/Image Map", with the appox. location of the trail up the Judges Route marked in green dots. The Purple Stars when clicked on will open another page with a picture from that location.
From the Standard Route looking over at part off the main summit Looking across at Mt Cokley A Halo formed around my shadow early one morning while on the main summit A small plane buzzed me as I reach the first summit A good veiw of the Alberni Valley Watching the clouds roll up the rock face Looking down at the Cameron Valley Just 20 minites from reaching the summit of Mt Arrowsmith in the late summer. The rock face of Mt Arrowsmith completly blasted with snow Trees bairly able to stand under the weight of all the snow Looking down the West Ridge with a fair jag of snow on it. Boxing Day 2001 Whew!!! a nice spot to take a break and take in the awsome views around you. Looking down towards Mt Moriarty The trees are alot smaller now Heading out of the timber line The trail starts to wind around a small rock bluff I was lucky to capture the suns light rays penitrate through the heavy canopy above. The trail starts by winding up through old growth forest Special thanks goes to Alberni Valley Outdoors club and the Tuesday Walkers for their time and effort in mantaining the trail. Trail head off into the bush just left of Spaz. A view looking back towards town, early morning during the summer. Snowshoeing up the road in the Winter Winter/Summer parking is located 30 meters up from turn off On the drive up you quite often see the cloads hang low in the Valley
How to get there??     If you are traveling from the West Coast, drive through Port Alberni heading towards Parksville. Turn right at the turn-off to mt Arrowsmith Ski Hill. If your coming from the East side of Vancouver Island. Travel West along Highway 4# towards Port Alberni and turn left at the turn-off to Mt Arrowsmith. From here drive down a rough road for 3kms. At the T intersection turn left, drive for approx. 10 kms, cross Cameron River and take the next main turn to your left. The road will now start heading up at good grade, with lots of wash board. Drive for about 3kms, or count the roads, you want the fifth road on your right. You should see some flagging tape of assort. colors. You can drive up the road and park just before the trail head if you own a 4X4 if not there is parking about 30 meters up from the turn-off.
